Defect description:

Untranslated into Polish customer consent options for:

  • the substitution of goods in case the selected ones are unavailable

  • marketing contact of the store with the customer

  • providing the customer with free promotional materials

Such defects may lead to violations of GDPR, affect the customer's decision-making, and weaken the effectiveness of the company's marketing activities.

 

Prerequisites:

  1. Logging into the store's website

  2. At least one product is available in the store that can be added to the cart.

 

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Adding any item to the cart

  2. Accepting the cart contents

  3. After accepting the cart contents, a page appears asking about product substitutions in case the selected products are unavailable, acceptance of marketing consents, and consent to send free samples.

 

Actual result:  

Part of the page is in English. The English part of the page contains information (as above) that may be significant for the customer but has not been translated into Polish.

 

Expected result:  

 

All content regarding consents, contact, marketing preferences, and purchasing decisions are fully translated into Polish..

 

Suggestions:

Translate the English part into Polish. It is not recommended to completely remove the section, as it contains important information for both the customer and the store.

Defect description:

The search engine returns inadequate results for the phrase "water 500 ml" - no results matching the customer's query.

Prerequisites:

  1. Opening the store's page in the browser.

  2. Products in the category "water 500 ml" are available in the store.

 

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to the store's homepage.

  2. Click on the search box.

  3. Type the phrase: "water 500 ml" in the store's search engine..

  4. Confirm the search by pressing the Enter key or clicking the magnifying glass icon on the right side of the search bar.

 

Actual result:

The first positions in the results show products not matching the query,including:

  • water with a capacity of 1.5 liters (additionally described with a defect, as the letter "l" indicating capacity appears twice creating "1.5 ll")
  • demineralized water with a capacity of 1.22 l

  • mosquito repellent,

  • only on the fourth position does a product with 500 ml of water appear, but in the flavored version,not classic,

  • men's antiperspirant

  • dishwasher freshener

  • vodka

  • another mineral water with a capacity of 1.5 l

The relevance of the results is low, and the search engine does not respond to the user's intent.

 

Expected result:

The search engine should return first and foremost products matching the query:

  • water still/sparkling 500 ml,,
  • various brands, but the same capacity.

 

Suggestions:

  • Improve the search engine algorithm so that it prioritizes products matching the full phrase entered by the user (exact match > partial match > related categories).

  • Introduce matching logic by capacity., to prevent products of different volumes (e.g., 1.5 l) from appearing before 500 ml products.

  • Exclusion of thematically unrelated products (e.g., insect repellents) from results for phrases that clearly indicate a food category.

  • Application of contextual filters โ€” if the user enters a specific capacity, the results should automatically take this parameter into account.

  • Improvement of the relevance of result ranking so that products most aligned with user intent appear at the top of the list.

  • Adjusting also the phrases "water 500ml" and "water 0.5 l" on the same principle and including these phrases in the search results.

  • Adding search suggestions (autocomplete), which will help the user find the right product faster and reduce the risk of incorrect results.

 

Additional information: The problem occurs every time during a search, also after entering the phrases: "water 500ml" (without spaces) and "water 0.5 l".

Such a problem prevents the customer from quickly reaching the selected product, which may result in abandoning the purchase.

  2. Products in the "eggs" category are available in the store.

 

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to the store homepage.

  2. Click in the search box.

  3. Enter the phrase: "eggs" in the store's search engine..

  4. Confirm the search by pressing the Enter key or clicking the magnifying glass icon on the right side of the search bar.

 

Actual result:

In the top positions of the results, products appear that are not related to the query โ€“ yogurts and yeast.

 

Expected result:

 

The search engine should return products that match the query. Products from other categories (e.g., insect repellents) should not appear in the results or should be displayed only after products matching the phrase. The results should reflectuser intent and support the purchasing process.
